Albania, I salute you!
In the land of Enver Hoxha everything is peaceful and nice. What other mediterranean country offers you empty beaches (no, really!) with azure Ionian sea, good food (think mouth-watering lamb, qifqi and sweet xupa), thousands of empty bunkers (hmmmm), lush mountains and some pretty Ottoman architecture (like Old Kruja, Berati or Gjirokastra)?
But Albania's greatest treasure must be the coast between Llogaraja Pass and Saranda, where mountains plunge into the sea and the alluring sandy beaches offer unpredictable joys for weary travellers?
The buzz is out - Albania is one of the hottest "new" destinations in Western Balkans.
See for yourself!
